Gulfport Police are investigating an accident with a fatality involving a pedestrian. On June 14, 2019 at approximately 1:14 a.m., the Gulfport Police Department responded to 12400 block of Highway 49 to investigate a vehicle versus pedestrian accident.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim, a 39 year old female of Gulfport, was attempting to cross Highway 49 when she was struck by a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu that was travelling southbound on Highway 49. The victim was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the Malibu was not cited and is cooperating with the investigation.
