On October 27, 2018 at approximately 6:59 p.m., the Gulfport Police Department responded to the area of Robinson Road and Salisbury Road in reference to pedestrian traffic accident. Upon arrival Officers located a 90 year old female suffering from injuries sustained in the crash. The female was transported to an area hospital. Later that evening she succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment.
The woman was struck by a 2010 Toyota Corolla. The driver of the Corolla had immediately stopped and cooperated with police. The preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was struck while walking across the roadway.
The identity of the deceased is withheld pending proper family notification. There are no charges filed in this incident.
