The Gulfport Police Explorer Post will host a recruitment evening on November 17, 2017 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Teens ages 13-18 who would like to sign up or learn more about Police Exploring are encouraged to attend. Police Exploring is a program sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America and exposes youth to the field of law enforcement. As a police explorer, the applicant will have the opportunities to attend training classes and possibly compete at regional and national competitions. Explorers also work alongside police officers working events such as high school ball games and special events such as Mardi Gras parades. Explorers meet at regular times every other week as a club which offers them an opportunity to fellowship with each other. Officers will be present on November 17th to answer any questions about the program. If you have any questions, please call (228)868-5703. The meeting will take place at the Gulfport Police Department front lobby located at 2220 15th Street in Gulfport.
