Updated December 6, 2017 — On December 5, 2017, the Gulfport Police Department arrested 47 year old Antonio Karlos Edwards of Gulfport charging him with one count of aggravated assault. The arrest was a result of an ongoing investigation regarding the shooting incident in the 3000 block of F Avenue. Edwards’s warrant was signed by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Louise Ladner setting his bond at $25,000. The investigation is still on going. December 1, 2017, at approximately 3:42 a.m., the Gulfport Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 300 block of 31st Street. Upon arrival Officers located a 38 year old woman who was suffering from a gunshot wound to her hand. The victim was transported to Memorial Hospital for treatment. The investigation revealed the shooting occurred inside of a residence on the 3000 block of F Avenue.
While Officers were investigating the incident, a 47 year old male arrived at Memorial Hospital who was suffering from a non life threatening gunshot wound to his leg. Officers have linked both shootings to the same incident occurring on F Avenue. All parties involved in the shooting incident have been contacted by Gulfport Police. A handgun has been recovered.
This investigation is ongoing. There are no arrests at this time.
