On May 14, 2019, Gulfport Police arrested Frederick Mack Washington Jr. of Gulfport charging him with one count of Aggravated Assault. On May 14, 2019, at approximately 5:01 am, Gulfport Police responded to the area of 18th Street and 38th Avenue to investigate a firearm discharge. Upon arrival, officers located a black male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where his condition is currently unknown.
During the course of the investigation, Washington was developed as a suspect. Detectives later obtained a warrant for the arrest of Washington. Detectives traveled to Washington’s residence where he was taken into custody without incident. Washington was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center with a bond set at $50,000 by Justice Court Judge Diane Ladner. Judge Ladner also Off Bonded Washington who was out on bond for Motor Vehicle Theft.
