On May 21, 2019,  the Gulfport Police arrested 13 year old Quinten Martel Winters Jr. of Gulfport charging him with two counts of aggravated assault. The arrest stemmed from an incident where at approximately 7:34 p.m., Gulfport Police responded to the 10000 block of East Taylor Road to investigate a shooting. Upon arrival, officers were advised that two juvenile females were injured. Both were transported to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

During the course of the investigation, Winters was developed as a suspect and was later taken into custody without incident. Winters is being charged as an adult in this case and is being held in the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility with a bond set at $50,000 per count by Justice Court Judge Melvin Ray.
