Gulfport Police are investigating a single vehicle accident which claimed the life of a 37 year old male of Gulfport. On May 28, 2019, at approximately 2:27 am, Gulfport Police responded to 9600 block of Cuandet Road to investigate a vehicle submerged in water with the occupants still inside.
Initial investigation revealed that a 2000 Chrysler Sedan was travelling on Cuandet Road near Washington Avenue when it left the roadway landing upside down in a ditch filled with water. Rescue personnel arrived on scene and removed the driver who was pronounced dead on scene. The passenger was transported to a local hospital where their current condition is unknown.
